Top officials in President Donald Trump's Department of Justice (DOJ) briefed the House Oversight Committee in mid-March to reportedly aid Congress' ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. Former Attorney General Pam Bondi and acting Attorney General Todd Blanche took part in a closed-door conversation with House lawmakers, including Democratic members of the Oversight Committee who spoke after the meeting.
Microsoft founder Bill Gates is set to discuss his ties to Jeffrey Epstein when he appears before a congressional panel in June, according to multiple reports.
The Washington Post and Politico report that Gates will testify before the Republican-led House Oversight Committee on June 10. Here’s the latest:
Gates appears multiple times in the Justice Department’s release of documents connected to its investigation of the late financier and convicted sex offender. The Justice Department’s files include email correspondence between Gates and Epstein about philanthropic projects, calendar entries documenting dates they got together, and photos of Gates at events the two men attended.

It’s unclear exactly what the panel is hoping to uncover when Gates testifies. The House Oversight Committee is looking into the Justice Department’s handling of the Epstein investigation.

In a statement to Politico and The Post, a Gates spokesperson said he "welcomes" the chance to appear before the committee.
"While he never witnessed or participated in any of Epstein’s illegal conduct, he is looking forward to answering all the committee’s questions to support their important work," the spokesperson said.
The House Oversight Committee has also interviewed former Attorney General Bill Barr, former Labor Secretary Alex Acosta and Ghislaine Maxwell, the longtime friend and former girlfriend of Epstein who’s serving a 20-year prison sentence for helping recruit some of his underage victims.

Former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton also sat for closed-door depositions on their ties to Epstein.
